How to Choose a Venue

The Proposal is done, wedding date is set, or maybe it isn’t….. now its time to choose a venue. Let me help you though some of the basic To do’s of finding a wedding venue right for you!!!!

Let me start by saying there a fair few ways to approach this, and lets attack the first and get it out of the way. If you have your heart set on a venue and that’s all you have dreamed of since you were a child, go right to the venue and go ” What dates do you have available and what do you need for a deposit.” The urgency of getting your money down I can’t stress enough. If the venue is all that matters then get that locked down and the rest of the day will fall into place.

The Next Group of people is those who have a specific date they wanna get married, like a parents anniversary or something similar. Super cool and awesome idea but know that time is against you!!!! I don’t say that to make you nervous, I just want you to be aware of what your up against. First and foremost go and send every email you can out to every venue you’re considering and go tour it ASAP. Time sensitive dates mean you are against the clock, especially if you are going for one of the more coveted spring or fall weekends. With having the date be the most important thing you need to be more flexible with the location. It’s not always the case but I have clients so set on a venue that they have backed the wedding up 2 to 3 years to make sure they get the venue….. sooooo once again when the date is the most important thing make sure to be flexible on the location!!!

Next would be the folk who have a super late or perhaps and unusually small wedding group size. For instance if you’re planning on only having 30 people at your event you wouldn’t want to book a room meant for 300 and vise-versa. If you have a monster family and a massive friend group on both sides and you are having a 400 person banger that’s some what of a large size, and not every venue can handle that kind of volume. All things to consider if you have a unique wedding size.

At the end of the day the most important thing is you’re getting married. As long as you remember, that you and your partner will have the best day ever!!!!!

Health and Happiness to you and yours!!!
