If you are at a modern event and the DJ is playing mostly modern music…. just let it happen. 99% of the time this is exactly what the DJ has been told to do by the client. I know you and the other Carols and Karens at table 17 located at the back of the room by the bathroom, filled with mostly friend of the brides mother who the bride nor groom barely know if at all want to get down… but you have had 30 years to get down and boogie like KC and the Sunshine band…. Let the next generation have some fun.
I normally would not be so stern on a subject, but i’ve noticed over the last five years specifically that almost every generation is tolerant of most all other music except one… If you grew up and the 80’s were when you graduated from HS, very specifically the late 80’s….. I”M LOOKING RIGHT AT YOU BUNCHA HOOLIGANS!!!! Seriously let it go… Duran Duran does not need to be on repeat. This would normally not be an issue but since you guys represent the first gen of the baby boomers, you were typically neglected children and were raised when life was easier so you are soft humans with no guidance and as a result morphed into a Generation of Karens and Carols. I know its not your fault but I just can’t stay silent anymore!!!!
Listen…. You think I want to be listening to Sabrina Carpenter or Taylor Swift???? heck no… I’m not a tone def but if thats what i’m playing that means that is what I was told to play!!!! I would much rather be listening to some temptations of prince or what ever…. just please…. dear God please take a page from every other generation and just take it like a champ and stop complaining.
