A long time ago… in a place far far away I was working a wedding when something out of the ordinary happened. Now in my line of work i’m quite accustom to the unusual and the unexpected. From random strangers trying to crash events, to full out royal rumbles between groomsmen and bartending staff. Lets just say part of my job, especially early in my career was to help keep the peace and sweep all the problems under the rug, so what was a 6/10 event from the vendors perspective is seen as a 10/10 from the clients perspective.
Now, i should have known it was gonna be a fun night when the uncle of the bride asked me to get him weed before the ceremony…. a comment I laughed off as being a funny ice breaker and found out as he harassed hotel staff it was certainly not. I will cut to the chase as my coffee is getting cold but amongst the many unique aspects of the wedding certainly the most interesting was my clients had to hire an off duty Columbus Police Officer… to walk between the grooms mother and step mother as they went down the aisle and sat for the ceremony. I was later informed by the CPD officer himself, who was in equal shock about the whole situation is that the mother and step mother go straight to blows every time they see each other… straight Jerry Springer behavior for the older folk who might remember that classic television program.
Real talk… I was a bit pissed the officer was there. I would have loved to see that play out in real life hahahaha. Let me part with a simple bit of advise. If you have to hire a cop to keep relatives from drawing blood at your wedding, just don’t invite them to the wedding… like seriously. If your parents are so whisky tango they can’t be reasoned with for a wedding ceremony. Then please leave the children at home.
Health & Happiness to all!!!!
